It was with great sadness that we heard about the death of our good friend and long time Blood Or Whiskey supporter Keith
On our first trip to New York City in 2004 keith and his boys in No Place To Piss opened up for us over two nights in The Wall in Queens where a firm friendship was formed over two crazy nights of Punk Rock and drinking.
Keith and his partner Jo Jo became good friends to Blood or Whiskey and its was never a problem to them to put members of our our band up whenever a place to stay was needed on trips to NYC
Rest easy brother, our hearts and thoughts go out to JO JO at this difficult time..Slainte Blood Or Whiskey

Brighton based folk-punk legends, Levellers, have announced Irish punk rockers Blood or Whiskey as support for their Academy show on December 19th. This will be the final date of their 2008 UK and European tour. Tickets are on sale now.
Levellers released the highly anticipated 'Letters from the Underground' - their most politically resonant album in a decade earlier last autumn and has received outstanding reviews.
"The punked-up folk sound is as bristly as ever
..Burn America Burn is a brilliant slice of fiery pop reminiscent of late Clash" (Letters from the Underground) Classic Rock 9/10
Levellers are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. The band started their career in 1988 and have gained a reputation as one of Britain's best live acts by their un-relenting commitment to touring and performing at festivals.

Blood or Whiskey have regrouped and are back with a tour in March '08 supporting The Misfits across europe and Scandanavia and plans for a US tour are also in the pipeline. After a difficult 2006 when Tin Whistle player Alan Confrey died suddenly aged 33 on the last day of a UK tour supporting Stiff Little Fingers, the band have kepy busy writing a new record.
Things are looking up for the band that has more than its fair share of knocks over the years including label hassles (ongoing), bust ups, drink, feuding ex members, drugs, nervous breakdowns, hospital, Prison, and even death...largely ignored by the mainstream media the band have built a massive loyal fanbase worldwide from constant touring something thats not about to change as the band still have a resilience and a stubborness that no one can keep down.
2007 saw the band do 6 weeks all over Europe and two UK tours, on the homefront the band played to 10,000 in The Bigtop supporting Manu Chao at his request and a Xmas show in the RDS main hall with the legendary Pogues will top off a great year for the band

Saturday 8th September - M Club - Crewe - UK

Thanks to the massive crowd that showed up to see us at the Rebellion
festival, due to circumstances beyond our control the band had an appalling
onstage sound in The Arena which made it really difficult to hear anything
through the onstage monitors, hopefully it didn't spoil it for anyone that made
the effort to come and see the band, Janer has put a couple of the tracks up on
Youtube for anyone that wants to have a look.
Few last minute things to sort out, we are packing the passports and bags and
getting ready to hit the European trail in the next few weeks, check out our
tour page for a full list of shows, couple more to be confirmed before we hit
the road.
For our UK fans we have two warm up shows on route, Friday 7th September we are
in The Junction in Nottingham then onto M Club in Crewe on
Saturday 8th, check local press for more gig details.
Travel day on Sunday 9th on route to Amsterdam then the first of 6 nights with
The Misfits which we are all really looking forward to and also meeting
all the other bands/fans on the road across Europe.
We will have a new line of Merchandising with us so be the first to get the new
stuff before it goes on the website in the next few weeks...cheers and beers.. |

Hello and welcome to the new
BLOOD OR WHISKEY website, We hope you enjoy it.
First up a massive thanks to Shay Murphy who
looks after this webpage and keeps us afloat in
cyberspace, check out his excellent site
www.myspace.com/xhardcoretimesx
Some BOW news: We recruited a new bass player
Peter Mullan some weeks back and we would like
you to give him a big welcome into the band next
time you see him, he cut his Blood or Whiskey
teeth last weekend at the 2 UK shows and equiped
himself really well, wecome onboard Pete.
We would like to give a big shout out to our
last bass player and good friend Roe who helped
us out on our last US tour and wish him well
with his new band Droppin Bombs
www.myspace.com/gerrup
Our European tour is shaping up really well,
we start in Switzerland on 13th September and
finish in Germany on October 5th, just a few
more dates to confirm, check out the tour dates
page for updates.
Because of the really tough past year the band
have had, what with our friend and comrade Alan
Confrey dying suddenly, bass Beano leaving and
various other behind the scenes personal and
business struggles, we have decided to call this
tour - Blood or Whiskey "BACK FROM THE BRINK"
Europe 2007 - (see
Gigs page for
dates)
We now have a new aural fighting machine going
back on the road tougher, meaner, leaner and
ready to take em all...no prisoners, see you at
the bar or up the front in the pit.
